symphonic-mpdは高音質再生に特化したディストリビューションです。高音質再生を阻害する要因は、それがキーボード入力であれディスプレイ出力であれ、全て排除しています。同じ理由で、WebUIにはympdを採用しています。


symphonic-mpd is a distribution specializing in high-quality sound playback. All the factors that hinder high-quality sound playback are eliminated whether it is keyboard input or display output. For the same reason, ympd is adopted for WebUI.

通常の操作やほとんどの設定作業は、このympdから行えます。しかし一部の設定作業は、symphonic-mpdが稼働しているRaspberry Piと同じLANに接続された他のデジタルデバイス、例えばパソコンやスマーフォン、タブレットから、SSHプロトコルを利用したリモートアクセスによって行います。それはあたかも、手元の小窓から遠くのRaspberry Piの中をのぞき込みながら手探りで作業するようなもので、ユーザーフレンドリーとはかけ離れた仕様になっています。こうした仕様になっているのも、GUI（Graphical User Interface）によるCPUへの負荷を最小限にとどめ、高音質再生を最優先させた結果です。

Normal operations and most configuration file changes can be done from this ympd. However, some configuration files can be changed by remote access using SSH protocol from other digital devices connected to the same LAN as the Raspberry Pi running symphonic-mpd, such as PCs, smartphones, and tablets. It looks like you are looking at a Raspberry Pi far away from a small window in front of you and relying only on keyboard input, and is not user-friendly. This specification is also the result of giving priority to high-quality sound playback while minimizing the CPU load caused by the GUI (Graphical User Interface).

SSH接続で行う作業のほとんどはCUI（Character-based User Interface）ベースで行われ、コマンドやディレクトリなど、全て他のデジタルデバイスからの文字入力が必要になります。周囲のデジタルデバイスでGUIが当たり前となった現代にあって、CUIベースのSSH接続は敷居が高いように思われるかもしれません。しかし、当サイトのFAQに画像付きの説明も用意しましたので、ぜひ怖がらずに挑戦してください。

Most of the work to be done with SSH connection is based on the CUI (Character-based User Interface), and all characters such as commands and directories must be entered from other digital devices. symphonic-mpdでは、一部の設定作業をSSHによるリモートアクセスで行いますが、クライアントソフトを走らせるローカル･コンピューターのOSによって、適切なクライアントソフトは変わってきます。Windowsの場合は、OS標準の「コマンドプロンプト」や、サードパーティー製の「Tera Term」、「PuTTy」がよいでしょう。Macの場合は、OS標準の「ターミナル」を使います。

SSHでsymphonic-mpdにリモート接続する際に利用するパラメーターは

ホスト　　：smpd.local
ユーザー　：root
パスワード：raspberry

となります。


In symphonic-mpd, some configuration works are done through a remote connection with the SSH protocol. However, the appropriate client software depends on the OS of local computer that runs the client software. For Windows, the OS standard "Command Prompt" or "Tera Term" and "PuTTy" provided by third parties would be better. For Mac, use the OS standard "Terminal".
Use the following parameters to connect remotely to symphonic-mpd via the SSH protocol.

Host : smpd.local
User : root
Password : raspberry


Raspberry PiとクライアントデバイスがLANの別個のセグメント上である場合、「smpd.local」を使用してアクセスできません。 DHCPログからRaspberry PiのIPアドレスを確認します。その後、ログから取得したIPアドレスでSSH接続を試みてください。


If the Raspberry Pi and the client device are on separate segments of the LAN, they cannot be accessed using “smpd.local”. Check the IP address of Raspberry Pi from the DHCP log. After that, try SSH connection with the IP address obtained from the log.

SSH接続時のパスワードについて

パスワードを初期設定のまま使い続けるのは危険です。変更しましょう。方法は簡単です。
以下のコマンドを実行して下さい。

About passwords for SSH connections

It is dangerous to keep using the default password. It is recommended to change it. It's easy.
Execute the following command.

passwd

現在のパスワードをたずねてくるので、raspberry と入力します。その後、新しいパスワードを入力するよう促されますので、2回連続して入力します。
パスワードを初期設定のまま運用する危険性については、このスレッドを参照して下さい。

You will be asked to enter your current password, so type "raspberry". After that, you will be prompted to enter the new password, so enter it twice in succession.
