I want to specify the NAS destination with IPv6 address
mike has verified how to set the connection destination of NAS by IPv6 address.

I want to specify the NAS destination with IPv6 address
Hi,
I was inspired by Paparius's report on the reason why Diretta adopted IPv6, and I have been trying ipv6 connection with SMPD 0.8.19 for the last couple of days. The conclusion is "Easy to connect", so I will briefly report the procedure and specified contents.
I installed Debian and Samba on Tinker Board S which is not used for NAS.
In SMPD 0.8.19, the ipv6 module is already running, and the ipv4 and ipv6 link: gloval and link: local addresses were confirmed by ifconfig.
The same confirmation was made on the NAS, and it was confirmed that ipv4 and ipv6 coexist in exactly the same way.
Then, I specified http: // [SMPD ipv4 address] / music directory name, and confirmed that the SMPD ympd was accessed and displayed properly.
In the NAS setting of SMPD, specify // NAS ipv6 link: local address @ eth0 / music directory name
, enter the user name and password, and enter nas confirmation.
I think it took a while. The message "successful" was displayed and the reboot instruction was issued.
After rebooting, you can specify songs and playlists as usual and play them in the same way.
The sound quality does not change. It doesn't get better or worse.
However, there were rare occasions when the playback continued for several hours.
Since my environment uses a single NAS and plays with multiple players at the same time, there may be a conflict between ipv4 and ipv6, but I don't know the truth.
I just searched for a way to stop ipv4, but since I couldn't find it, I gave up and now revert to ipv4 connection.
When connecting to ipv6, please note that when http: // is connected, enclose the ipv6 address in []
, and when specifying the music directory of nas, follow the port name of ipv6 with @
. Is to specify.
For Debian / Raspbian, the port is eth0, so you need to write @ eth0
following the link: local address of ipv6.
For Windows, it seems to specify numbers. (ex. @ 8
)
That's all.
